This program will emphasize various ways of supporting and reflecting others in the Gestalt Awareness Practice (GAP) tradition. The principles will also be applied to self-reflection and the development of self-support through personal practice. Although we will be looking at reflecting in the GAP style, elements of the approach are useful in many other professional and personal situations. Learning to listen without bias, to inquire rather than interrogate, and to follow and reflect rather than lead and fix are skills that enhance relationships of all kinds. This way of “being with” can increase awareness, deepen contact, open self-expression, and clarify communication.

The program is only open to participants with significant previous experience in gestalt workshops with Chris, Sharon, and Dorothy  and open seats with Chris specifically.  Indicate your interest on this form. Invited participants will hear from Chris within a week of indicating interest.

Participants can also apply to an extended Tutorial program. This is appropriate for those currently working with others, including teachers, therapists, coaches, team leaders, committee chairs, bodyworkers, and ministers… who want to explore and incorporate how awareness practice in general, and GAP principles in specific, can be integrated into their current work in the world. The tutorial program will include consultation with Chris and the cohort around general questions and particular situations initiated by participants. Exploring and clarifying how inner issues may be affecting supporting others will sometimes be addressed through Chris reflecting participants, and these spontaneous demos will also provide a basis for more discussion. This program will be scheduled between early February and the end of March. Exact dates are to be decided.

Participating in the initial program does not guarantee a place in the tutorial addition, but those applying to the tutorial must participate fully in the initial program.

Cost     $600

A deposit of $200, nonrefundable, with a complete registration form, will hold your place. The balance of $400 is due by January 4.
